Infrastructure has always been a powerful ‘catalyst’ for triggering growth cycles in the property market. A pattern has emerged: wherever infrastructure develops rapidly, land values surge. Phú Quốc is replaying this pattern with a series of multi-trillion-dong infrastructure projects being rolled out for APEC 2027.
Phú Quốc is stepping up infrastructure development in preparation for the APEC summit
Major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and many international cities have all experienced periods of strong growth when airports, seaports, metro systems and strategic transport corridors have been developed in a coordinated manner. Infrastructure not only shortens geographical distances but also attracts capital, visitors and investment. Savvy investors often seek out areas driven by infrastructure development to get ahead of the growth cycle.
Phú Quốc is entering its largest-ever phase of infrastructure development to date in preparation for APEC 2027 – the most significant diplomatic and economic event in the Asia-Pacific region. It is reported that 30 construction projects have been proposed, with a total investment of approximately 220,352 billion dong, focusing on upgrading infrastructure and enhancing the urban landscape. Consequently, the ‘Pearl Island’ has become a focal point for savvy investors.

One of the key projects is the expansion of Phu Quoc International Airport. According to the master plan, the airport will be upgraded to a scale of approximately 1,050 hectares, with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year by 2027 and a target of 50 million passengers by 2050. Upon completion, it will be one of the region’s major aviation hubs, enabling Phu Quoc to welcome many times more international visitors than at present.
Alongside the airport expansion, significant investment has also been made in the DT.975 road – a strategic transport corridor linking the airport to the southern part of the island. The road, approximately 17.7 km long, with 10 lanes and a carriageway width of 62 metres, serves as the ‘backbone’ connecting the key areas of Phú Quốc.
Not only that, but Phú Quốc is also developing an urban metro line approximately 18 km long, capable of carrying over 4,500 passengers per hour, with a total investment of around 9,000 tỷ đồng. The metro line will significantly reduce journey times between the airport, the city centre, tourist attractions and event venues.
One of the iconic projects of this new phase of development is the APEC Conference Centre complex, built with a total investment of approximately 21,860 billion dong on a site covering 16.06 hectares. This will be the venue for high-level conferences, international events and large-scale MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) activities. Currently, the APEC Convention Centre is having its steel roof structure installed, with 90 per cent of the concrete structure complete. The entire exterior of the building is expected to be completed by 30 June 2026.
According to the “Specialised Report: Infrastructure Property – Opportunities and Challenges” by the Vietnam Real Estate Research Institute, localities with remarkable infrastructure development typically achieve higher economic growth rates than the national average. For example, following the completion of its motorway network, airport and seaport, Quang Ninh has maintained an average GRDP growth rate of over 10 per cent per annum for many years.
In Phú Quốc, a series of projects worth trillions of Vietnamese dong currently under way will usher the island city into a new phase of development: from a holiday destination to a multi-sector economic hub encompassing tourism, services, trade and international MICE. Following APEC 2027, Phú Quốc is set to emerge as an ‘international tourism hub’ for the region, following the model that Singapore has successfully established.
The Infinity – The focal point for capital along the APEC growth corridor
A new growth cycle is gradually taking shape in the Phú Quốc property market. However, not all areas are benefiting equally. In accordance with market dynamics, only those areas situated along key infrastructure corridors or close to major economic and event centres are experiencing the strongest growth.

The APEC Centre – the venue for many of the key events of the 2027 APEC Summit Week – is regarded as the ‘core of development’ for Phú Quốc. Situated right at the heart of the APEC Centre, along DT.975 Avenue, The Infinity – part of the Meyhomes Capital Phu Quoc mega-city – lies directly on the island’s “growth axis”. Furthermore, The Infinity is also adjacent to the planned urban metro line, due to commence operations in the future. The development comprises 218 Connecthome units, ranging from 3 to 5 storeys in height, with unit sizes varying from 104 to 325.85 m².
The convergence of a key transport corridor and a modern metro system forms the basis for a transport-oriented development (TOD) model. The synergy between these two strategic infrastructure projects, linked to APEC and the metro, shapes The Infinity as a dual economic hub in Phú Quốc, where international trade, tourism and service flows continuously converge and interconnect.

Thanks to its location at the heart of the APEC region, The Infinity is seamlessly connected to the emerging services, tourism and conferences ecosystem in the region, comprising international event centres, luxury hotels and resorts, commercial districts, dining venues and a range of amenities catering to global travellers. The Infinity not only benefits from convenient access to key destinations but will also play a direct role in the vibrant economic and service activity of the future APEC centre.
The Infinity also benefits fully from the existing ecosystem of amenities within the Meyhomes Capital Phú Quốc mega-city. Being situated within a meticulously planned mega-city helps the project to quickly establish a vibrant lifestyle and a steady flow of visitors, thereby enhancing its commercial potential and reinforcing its long-term sustainable development value.
In the run-up to APEC, Phu Quoc is entering a phase of rapid growth in both infrastructure and the economy. The Infinity is the focal point for investment, as it is situated right at the heart of this development, poised to capitalise on the Pearl Island’s new wave of growth.
